SOUNDERS MONTHLY

Complete reimagining of the Seattle Sounder’s Matchday Program during the 2017 MLS Season. I was part of the team charged to rethink an asset that was, traditionally, viewed once and discarded under the seats in the stadium. We moved away from match-specific content, shifting the focus to telling deeper storylines that could drive the connection between the players and fans. The new monthly digest featured long-form features on players and the culture surrounding the club, illustration and photography from local artists, easy-to-digest infographics, and more. We also minimized the presence of ads and implemented design standards for the those that remained. In addition to creating a better product for our customers, we added value for corporate partners, generating more revenue.

The issue featured here was themed around ‘Rivalries' and featured an oral history of the Seattle/Portland rivalry, a long-form article about the burgeoning feud with Toronto FC, and a gorgeous cover illustration by local artist, Pam Wishbow.
